Looking Ahead to Christmas

Christmas Angels

UMC together with the other churches in Uppermill are hoping to make hundreds of knitted (or crocheted) angels to spread around the village and take out to the businesses.  An enthusiastic army of people to knit and/or crochet is needed to make this happen.  Some people have already made a start.  If you would like to join them, patterns are available from the church lounge.  The angels can be made in any colour.  Watch out for further information on how and when they will be distributed.  FInal date for handing them in is Sunday 26th November.

Uppermill Advent
This will be the 5th year of Uppermill Advent, a life-sized Advent Calendar whose windows are in our homes. Anyone living in Uppermill is very welcome to take part. You can see previous examples and find out a bit more on our website www.uppermilladvent.wordpress.comon the Uppermill Advent Facebook page, or just speak to Erica if you would like to take part. If you have a suitable window that you would like to contribute to the calendar but would need some help with the decorating, please let Erica know - we are hoping to involve some of the Cubs and Scouts in decorating some “spare” windows, and also hope to run a couple of workshops to share ideas.

Angel Fest

Christmas services at UMC will have an angel theme this year and Gary hopes that the church will be decorated with large (3ft+) angels made by church groups and other groups who use our premises.  If you are a member of a group that would like to be involved please speak to Gary.

How are you going to get involved?
