UPPERMILL METHODIST CHURCH
The Church in the Square at the Heart of the Community
Our purpose
As a Church community we recognise our Christian calling to help those who are less fortunate than ourselves and we are passionate about speaking up for disadvantaged people and fighting for social justice.

The group meets regularly to organise many aspects of service at UMC, including our project fund, Christian Aid week, and collecting for the foodbank and Oldham Unity, which works with refugees.
A couple of times a year, we lead a local arrangement service, which have recently included "Who Made My Clothes?" and "Fair Education for Girls in Sierra Leone." In these services we try to give the congregation a message to take away about how every one of us can make a difference in our world.

We are involved in lobbying politicians and working alongside organisations such as Christian Aid and Traidcraft on major world issues such as Poverty and Climate Change. This is our way of showing care for God's planet and God's people.
If you would like to know more, or would be interested in joining our friendly group, please contact us via the form on the front page of this website.
Supporting Oldham Unity
Thank you to everyone who helped to make the supper at UMC on Saturday 19th such a success. Everyone helped to make our guests from Iran, Sudan and Afghanistan feel very welcome, and we were also able to raise more than £280 for Oldham Unity - a very worthwhile cause.
