UPPERMILL METHODIST CHURCH
The Church in the Square at the Heart of the Community
The 40-60 group was launched in September 2019 for women aged 40 to 60 (ish) from the Methodist Churches in Saddleworth, and friends, to meet together to share activities and socialise.
We have an event every month or so and try to vary the night of the week to cater for people with busy lives and other demands on their time. At our first meeting we brainstormed some amazing ideas for what we'd like to do as a group, from theatre trips and meals out to craft, local history, walks, discussions, escape rooms, spa days, learning about interior design and having our colours done!

Events to date have included launching our group at Abaco in Uppermill, revealing truths and lies about ourselves, and generating ideas for future events. In October our team, ‘The Sunny Side’, displayed a very impressive first attempt at the Dysarts Arms’ Speed Quiz - we'll have to do it again some time! In November we put our creative skills to the test making willow lanterns for display in Church over Christmas. 2019 was rounded off with a festive get-together at the Albion Tap in Uppermill.
