Twiddle Muffs

A Twiddlemuff promotes activity and reduces agitation by providing a person with something soft and safe to manipulate. They are ideal for individuals with dementia who often sit for long periods of time with little to stimulate their senses. They provide comfort, warmth and an opportunity to promote sensory stimulation

They can be knitted or made from fabric and are embellished with a variety of ornaments of different types and textures.

Members of Monday at Eight have been working together to produce about thirty different Twiddle Muffs to donate to the Dementia Wing of Avonleigh Gardens the Methodist Residential Home in Oldham.  See their efforts on the right.
