Uppermill Methodist Church presents

Knitted Bible Stories Exhibition

From Wednesday 1st June until the LIttle Fishes service on Sunday 12th June, UMC will be hosting the highly popular and unusual Knitted Bible Stories Exhibition.

On loan from St Georges URC, Hartlepool, the exhibits depict 33 of the better known Bible stories from the Old and New Testaments. Each of the characters, animals, and many of the props have been cleverly knitted, showing skill and tremendous attention to detail.

This is the first time our church has undertaken such a project, and we are looking forward to sharing this opportunity to celebrate well known bible stories in such an innovative and create way.

Family Activities

We have a range of activities throughout the event, including pom-pom making, weaving, knitting and crafts. There is a treasure hunt, an online quiz and afternoon storytime sessions with tea and refreshments.

Crafters and Knitters

There are two Knit and Natter Nights on Thursday 2nd and Thursday 9th June from 7.30pm.

Knitwear Designer, Jacinta Bowie will be running two Finishing Schools on Saturday 11th June. Charged at just £5 per person, these limited place sessions will be very popular, so please book a place by calling 07719 346112 or email here.

Refreshments

Homemade cakes, juice, snacks and hot drinks will be available throughout the exhibition opening times. Should you wish to come as a group of 10 people or more, please call ahead and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. Or email online@uppermillmethodistchurch.org.uk
