Mission and Service

The Mission and Service Group  looks at the church's relationship with the wider world, locally, national and internationally.  It covers things such as the Project Fund, Christian Aid, support for Oldham Food Bank, Asylum Seekers. We are always looking for new initiatives.
Oldham Food Bank

Oldham Food Bank relies entirely on voluntary donations.

The foodbank provides a minimum of three days emergency food and support to local people in crisis  which can arise from delays in benefit payments, coping with zero hours contracts, benefit sanctions, changes in family circumstances...

Oldham Unity

Oldham Unity support an average of 40-50 destitute asylum seekers, individuals and families, each week.

Every week, new asylum seekers go to them for help and support. The cost they need to find each week is £11.00 per asylum seeker. It is also a place where people can come and meet their friends, get advice, have a meal, and children can play. The food donations act as a focus that enables so much more to happen.

If you are in a position to help these charities, please put food in the trolley in the passage at the Methodist Centre.
